Howl! Happening presents a panel discussion in connection with the exhibition, Linda Simpson My Comrade Magazine: Happy 35th Gay Anniversary.  My Comrade editor Linda Simpson moderates a discussion about the joys and travails of publishing an alternative queer publication with staff members from Buds Digest, Butt, Frock, Gayletter and Straight to Hell.

Since the 1980s, Linda Simpson has worked as a nightlife personality, writer and game-show host. Her photos of NYC’s drag scene of the 1980s and ‘90s have been featured in books, magazines, exhibits and documentaries, as well as her own touring slideshow.

My Comrade’s importance as a piece of gay history was made apparent in 2021 when it was acquired by Harvard for its Houghton Library, which specializes in literary and performing arts archives.
