Mirrored Experiments with Tessa Hughes-Freeland

We are currently at capacity for the workshop. If you would like to be added to the waiting list click the link at the bottom of this page to register.

Surrealist filmmaker and multimedia artist Tessa Hughes-Freeland shares some of her key techniques with workshop participants. In this two-part workshop, the first half focuses on kaleidoscope-making using cardboard tubes and mirrored plastic. During the second half, participants will use smartphones to record a mini-film made from their handmade slides projected through a slide projector with a kaleidoscope eyepiece.

All materials are provided. No previous experience in film or photography is required. Seating is limited so register early to reserve your spot by completing the form below. Workshop confirmations will be sent via email by the Education Director. Due to limits on space and resources, walk-ups or unconfirmed participants cannot be accommodated the day of the workshop.

The Tessa Hughes-Freeland exhibition, Passed and Present, continues through November 17 at Howl! Happening.
